STR: 1. Menu | Tools | New Guest Session, and tap "Continue" on alert prompt. 2. Try to type in a URL ACTUAL RESULTS: A "Guest Browsing is Enabled" notification bubble appears, covering the top 15-20% of the screen -- **including the URL Bar**. This notification cannot be dismissed, and it stays in place for 5 seconds. Hence, I'm blocked from using the URL bar, just at the moment that I want to use it. I just have to sit and wait for the alert to go away. EXPECTED RESULTS: Notification should be dismissable, or (if possible) should go directly to the tray without ever covering up the top of the screen & the URL bar.
OS: Unspecified → Android
Hardware: Unspecified → All
Worse: this notification reappears (again, **blocking the URL bar**) whenever I briefly switch between apps (e.g. to look up a password or a URL or something) and return to Firefox-in-guest-mode.
As a workaround, you can manually lower the priority for the default notification channel from Android's settings, although until bug 1479532 is fixed this also means lowering the notification priority for tabs received via sync in case you care about those.
Thanks! I'll hold off on doing that, to get the authentic experience of real users who don't know about that workaround. :) This isn't affecting my daily workflow at this point I just happened to run into this papercut when trying to test a one-off webcompat bug in a guest session (which involved me trying the exact STR quoted above in comment 0, and being surprised at the 5-second notification roadblock).
Summary: "Guest Browsing is enabled" notification now annoyingly blocks the URL bar for several seconds → "Guest Browsing is enabled" notification now annoyingly blocks the URL bar for several seconds after entering guest mode (or after returning Firefox to foreground)
