Crash Data

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Android 9; Mobile; rv:62.0) Gecko/62.0 Firefox/62.0 Build ID: 20180813190114 Steps to reproduce: Go to https://login.live.com/ Actual results: Firefox crashes. This only happens on ARM64 builds on Firefox 61 or earlier or Firefox 62b17. Nightly is not effected. See crash report: https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/7dac2374-772b-4d77-9515-111b90180814 Expected results: Firefox beta and stable shouldn't crash on these pages like Nightly doesn't crash on them.
Summary: Crashes on Microsoft login pages only on ARM64 builds with Firefox 62b17 candidate → Crashes on Microsoft login pages only on ARM64 builds with Firefox 62b17 candidate (for 62 branch) and Firefox 61 and earlier.

Crash Signature: [@ @0x788864336c] → [@0x788864336c]
Also earlier betas of Firefox 62 were not affected.
I can reproduce a crash here with Focus Nightly (which is using GeckoView 62).
Reproducing on both Android 8 and 9 with the STR - on Pixel 2 and Galaxy Note 8

Affects Firefox 63 as well. My mistake. As long as you're on AARCH64 you'll see the bug.
Crash happens in "js-executable-memory", so looks like a reproducible JIT crash.

Lars or Sean, is this something either of you might be interested in looking at?

Probably something for Sean, unlikely to be WebAssembly given the context. Good to know it's working in Nightly in any case.

Actually it crashes on the nightly as well.
Think it affects every ARM64 build of Firefox.
Firefox Focus Nightly will just loop on the login page.
Hmm. Seems now the nightly of Firefox Focus is no longer served in the AARCH64 version. That should be a suitable workaround.
P2 because this was a reproducible crash and sstangl is now working on Ion for ARM64.

Sean, is this login.live.com crash still reproducible?
I still get it on the AARCH64 builds.
If only this one (admittedly major) site is affected, this bug probably doesn't need to block us from testing ARM64 Fennec on Nightly. But it should still block ARM64 from riding to Beta and Release.

(In reply to Release mgmt bot [:sylvestre / :calixte] from comment #16)

Closing because no crashes reported for 12 weeks.

I don't know if crash reports are relevant because this bug was filed based on Michael's steps to reproduce, not a Socorro crash report. We didn't have official ARM64 Nightly builds when Michael filed this bug eight months ago.

@ Michael, can you please retest live.login.com with a recent ARM64 build of Firefox 68 Nightly? We now have official ARM64 Nightly builds and a lot of ARM64 code has changed in the last few months.

This WFM on Fennec and Fenix (both of which are native ARM64 builds nowadays), so closing the bug accordingly. Michael, if you're still seeing this, feel free to reopen. That said, Sean is no longer with Mozilla, so we'll need to find a new person to investigate in that case.
