Searching for "extensions" or "addons" (or "add-ons") in about:preferences yields nothing. Maybe that's OK, but we might help users out if we allow them to navigate from about:preferences to about:addons (and back). In the future, enabling search might help, but at least pointing them to Add-ons would help discoverability.

This is a good idea. I also seem to recall ideas around merging about:addons and about:preferences at some point, but I'm not sure where those plans currently stand.

Those plans have stalled in the short-term (at least through 65, and I would bet a bit longer), so we're looking to make about:addons better. [Some parts are still moving out, like languages/dictionaries, but after we improve it, it might no longer be worth moving Themes/Extensions to preferences.]

NI emanuela for a mock of what we should put on the about:preferences side of this (we already have a mock for the about:addons side).

Here a mock that show how we can cross-linking about:preferences and about:addons As you can see from the attachment, my reccomandation is to replicate the style og the "help-button". I'd like to suggest as a copy "Extensions & Themes" and not "add-ons", but I'm open to discuss it if needed.

Will we have telemetry for this? Would be useful to have for informing future work.

Not sure if this is where I should mention it, but in the current build the link for Add-ons Support is broken.

Oh, I see! I thought it was for something that was already in-tree, and not a work-in-progress. :) I guess we should just make sure Mark is aware.

NI to mstriemer for the link and the telemetry question. Since a bunch of this was just added, please check with luca on the link telemetry.

The support link is added in bug 1488732 and I had just put a placeholder in until we had the official link. It's fixed up now. I'll look to file a follow up for telemetry.
