Details

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.0rc2) Gecko/20020510 BuildID: 2002051006 Whenever attempting to download a file (from any site), the download filename defaults to a .TIF extension (see exceptions below). E.g., "filename.exe" shows in the download window as "filename.exe.TIF". The "files of type" window has only .TIF and "All Files." Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. See "Description" 2. 3. Actual Results: See "Description" and "Additional Information" Expected Results: The "download as" filename should be the same as the file on the remote server, without an added .TIF extension. Exception: The problem seems to depend upon the extension of the file to be downloaded. It always occurs with .EXE files and several other nonstandard extensions (e.g., .OLD, .RPM, .LST, .MP5 -- all from the Commandcom.com product download site). I didn't look for other extensions (e.g., .JPG, .PCX, etc.) to test it on -- the particular files I was interested in downloading were all .EXE extensions. The problem can easily be circumvented by simply deleting the .TIF suffix in the download window, but it shouldn't be happening.
Looks like a duplicate. Of 142102 ? Did anybody can confirm this dup ?
Reporter, "Any" is not a useful URL. Please provide a testcase and exact steps to reproduce. This is a dupe. The only questions is which one. pi
