I thought that Firefox does not do this already, but I have just noticed that it actually *does* render the top level domain and the second level domain of https sites in white color and the rest of URL in grey color (on dark theme). However, it is in my opinion not sufficient, because such a subtle difference is very easy to overlook. Therefore, please consider making the highlighting more obvious. And also include the non-https websites, because they can become phishing targets as well.
