User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:62.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/62.0 Build ID: 20180905220717 Steps to reproduce: Start Firefox from a shell so you can see errors. On the current Ubuntu (Ubuntu 18.04) and updated Firefox, there is no folder structure under flatpak for exports... so I'm not sure what it is supposed to find. Firefox has been throwing this error repeatedly. This has only come up recently due to the fact that I cannot run firefox without limiting it's memory (24G machine and I end up with 16g+ firefox sessions causing swap thrashing) but it is likely there for almost everyone just not seen. Here is the path where it fails upon: $ ls -l /var/lib/flatpak total 4 drwxr-xr-x 7 root root 4096 May 15 15:50 repo Actual results: (/usr/lib/firefox/firefox:19717): dconf-WARNING **: 16:41:17.195: Unable to open /var/lib/flatpak/exports/share/dconf/profile/user: Permission denied Expected results: No error due to not looking in this directory path, or the path created with installation with whatever contents should be populated.
Just upgraded (firefox (62.0+build2-0ubuntu0.18.04.5) over (62.0+build2-0ubuntu0.18.04.3)) and it is still occurring (it happens with text fields from what I can tell, possibly only password text fields.
Hi Mike, Any thought about this ?

We don't have any official Flatpak builds from Mozilla. You would need to go to the folks that built this Flatpak.
Flags: needinfo?(mozilla)
How is my Firefox looking for it then since it's the install that comes with Ubuntu 18.04 and upgraded as upgrades were available? I don't understand how it's connected if it's not something Mozilla is doing.

Ubuntu uses a Snap for the primary distribution, not a Flatpak.
However, actually flatpak is adopted by Ubuntu too, according to https://kamikazow.wordpress.com/2017/02/09/adoption-of-flatpak-vs-snap/. So it could be you got the flatpak from https://firefox-flatpak.mojefedora.cz/? If so, please report issues to https://github.com/xhorak/firefox-devedition-flatpak/issues

Can you please retest with flatpak provided by Mozilla? (https://flathub.org/apps/details/org.mozilla.firefox)
Thanks.

I know I was not asked, but I've just started the new flatpak from the CLI and accessed some password fields(?), and there were no errors in the console, only some gtk things:
