*** observed with 2002-06-04 trunk and branch builds *** Steps to reproduce: - subscribe to some chinese newsgroups; - make sure the folder encoding is Western; - select a message, go to View|Encoding|Autodetect|Chinese; - reselect a message with nomine; //note: the mail body is not displayed correctly, would i set the autodetect to Sinplified chinese then i would see the mail body correctly
i don't see it happening in 6.2.3 so adding the keyword "regression"

Nominating for nsbeta1, since auto-detector is turned on Chinese by default on Chinese build. BTW, auto-detector has higher priority than folder charset, but in this case, it seems not, another bug?

this is working in 7.0 PR1 that we just shipped as well, so the chinese build will be ( and is ) fine. We regressed after that so we have to fix the problem for RTM.
Bug 149724 is filed for browser. Looks like they are same problem, also they both regression after N7.0PR1.
