Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:62.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/62.0
Steps to reproduce:
At the moment, if you enable Firefox account synchronization you can sync bookmarks, history and more. What is not synced is the list of top sites on the home page.
Expected results:
I would expect pinned top sites to be treated as bookmarks as people use them to reach the pages they use the most. Possibly, also custom icons should be synced.
Alternatively, one could add another entry in the sync settings especially for the pinned top sites or home page settings as a whole.
At the moment the only way to export such data is by manually exporting/importing the profile folder.

alessio,
just to clarify, are you saying the top sites that have explicitly been 'pinned' are not being synced or that regular, unpinned top sites are not being pinned?
Pinned top sites should be synced. Unpinned top sites are not synced because the browser calculates 'frecency' for a site, and does not store (and therefore cannot sync) this value.

I'm saying it does not sync pinned top sites. On my desktop I have all 16 pinned sites. On my laptop I have only a few, which I think I added manually. Note that bookmarks is the only thing I sync using firefox account.
About not pinned ones, I agree with you. Sorry. But let's say I sync my history too, shouldn't the browser compute the same "frecency" as the history of visited websites is the same?
