I have verified that the test snippets now appear in the about:newtab#asrouter page if "browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.asrouter.devtoolsEnabled" is set to "true" on the latest Nightly 64.0a1 (Build ID 20181015223336) on Windows 10 x64, Mac 10.13, and Arch Linux x64.
