Hmm. Given that the addon's pref is "false" by default on beta, it sounds like I should be disabling those tests on beta/release. I'll make a patch to do that ASAP.

Actually, it turns out that the patch I wrote in bug 1498827 isn't quite right, so that's where the fix for this should take place (I'll mention why in that bug).
