Details
I have several directories containing many mail files on the IMAP server. But
the IMAP client does not 'see' all of them.
In your IMAP account settings, go to Server Settings and click the 'Advanced'
button. Uncheck "Show only subscribed folders." Alternately, in the 3-pane
view right-click on any visible folder and select Subscribe, then check desired
folders. Does this solve your problem? If so, please mark bug invalid.
Reporter, do you still see this problem in recent builds? Please update the bug
with new test info, including steps to reproduce.

Just downloaded Mozilla 1.4.1. The problem persists. If I do not subscribe to
directories and files, then I do not see all my mail directories and folders. If
I subscribe, then it seems to work (did not have ample time to test and check
it). But since I normally create mailfiles at work I would like to see them also
at home; and this without having to subscribe to them. Not very user friendly.
It looks like Netscape 4.7x is able to handle this issue properly.
Let me know what you want me to test. Since the company is supplying the
mailserver there is no tinkering I can do on it.

Isn't this a duplicate of bug #138759 ??
From the reporter's description in comment 3, this seems to be unrelated to
folder nesting depth, but rather a desire to automatically subscribe new folders
that were created by another client (I think this bug occurs with folders
created in Outlook). A workaround is to check the option to show all folders -
I can't recall where that option is located though, and I have no more IMAP
account to test on...
