There was already bug 1499666 with the title "New about:addons width is too small" but it was about another issue so I opened a new ticket. The new about:addons has a similar layout as about:preferences but both have a different width and if you're switching between these two pages you can see the search field jump because of that. It would be great if both could be unified. Since the new about:addons is very small I suggest to use the witdh of about:preferences. I attached a screenshot for illustration.

about:preferences is wider in German than English and looking at the CSS I suspect that might be a bug. I'll leave this open for now but I suspect the proper solution (which I'm guessing you're not hoping for) is to make about:preferences more narrow.

It looks like this is caused by the network settings section.

This is still happening. Here's a more recent video showing the different widths. Looks like General and Privacy & Security are the culprits now.
