This bug will switch "about:config" to point to the new implementation that uses web technologies, but only when building the "browser" application.

Paolo, could you request an addition to our release notes? Thanks https://wiki.mozilla.org/Release_Management/Release_Notes#How_to_nominate_a_bug_for_release_notes_addition.3F

Redirecting the request to Andreas, since I don't know if we want a release note and what could be the best wording. If we want a note, I can suggest something like "Redesigned internal configuration page (about:config)". This could go in the "changed" category, even though the page is new and looks quite different from the previous one.

I've made my recommendation for a release note in bug 1532703.
