RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 598587

People

(Reporter: firefox.pax, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:65.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/65.0

Steps to reproduce:

Performed a search from the address bar while within a "pinned" tab.
(Requires "Use the address bar for search and navigation" feature)

Actual results:

The search results open inside the "pinned" tab, effectively "unpinning" it from the intended domain (e.g. gmail).

Expected results:

The search results should open in a new tab similar to the behavior of the traditional search bar in a pinned tab.

Hi, @Firefox.pax
You manage to reproduce this issue by performing a search using one of the "One-click Search Engines"? I've notice a difference between the traditional search bar and address bar.

Flags: needinfo?(firefox.pax)

Yes, this issue also occurs using "one-click search engines" from Address Bar.

(If I use "one-click" in Search Bar, the results open in a new tab as expected.)

Hi, @Firefox.pax, manage to reproduce this issue on Firefox versions: latest nightly 67.0a1, beta 66.0b11, release 65.0.1.
Thanks for your contribution.
