Implement a better way to move quickly through month/years in the minimonth (due to removal of dropdown menus) [workaround: scroll on the year using your mouse or touchpad]

In bug 1524456 I killed the popups for months and years in the minimonth because they caused too many problems in the new widget. You can scroll to move through the years quickly, but there could be a better way.

Ditto to this: I have calendar data going back to 1984 (don't ask!) and it's now - having gone from TB 60.9.1 with Lightning 6.2.9.1 to TB/Lightning 68.3.0 - taking forever trying to scroll back through the years. Could we not have a Calendar menu item with a GoTo Date popup if the minimonth dropdowns are too much trouble?

I also have this problem and I think this proposed solution - a way to enter and jump to a specific date - is a very good idea.
I did not use the minimonth pane for anything other than the dropdown month/year menus and found it a bit annoying to have to open it up just for this (I was closing it to free up the column of space on my screen).
Thank you.

Yes, please, re-implement something to easily get to a specific date, far away in the past or in the future. Moving through the years/months with multiple clicks on the arrows is quite cumbersome... Thanks.

(Note: just write "bug" and the number, like bug 1804488, so bugzilla auto-links it, and can e.g. update tooltip with current status.)
