about:memory currently has "about:memory" as page title (prefix). In https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/0649bb18323b a static title "Memory Analyzer" was set, though the title is dynamically updated later on overwriting the static one.

The "about:memory" part of the title should generally be replaced by "Memory Analyzer".

Is the new name necessary? The page has always been called about:memory and all the online references use that name, e.g. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Performance/about:memory.

IMO this is a change for change's sake that doesn't improve things, and I would prefer to revert to the original, well-established name.

The idea is to align the title with the style used for the other about: pages. See also bug 1051846.

Currently, the page titles of the different about: pages are inconsistent. A counter example to about:memory is about:debugging, which does have the human-readable page title "Debugging with Firefox Developer Tools".

The documentation for it still says "about:debugging" though, which indicates what needs to be typed into the address bar to access the page.

I understand that an arbitrary decision was made to give all about: pages a non-about: name. I am questioning that decision. I think each about: page should have the best name possible, and in the case of about:memory the current name is the best one, because it is well-known and well-understood. "Memory Analyzer" is completely generic and could refer to any memory tool inside or outside of Firefox.

I say all this as the person who has been in charge of about:memory for the past 8 years.
