There is a new WorkManager whole number version release out now. 2.0.1 is currently available and according to the changelog the 1.x.x version is being abandoned for features and bug fixes.
There was also mention in the changelog that WorkManager now works with robolectric but the actual bug they linked there seems to disagree.

I think that A-C has been updated to 2.0.1. Taking this to verify before closing. I'll probably file a follow up bug to look into improving our WorkManager tests in Glean-AC
