Have "master bugs" inherit search terms from resolved duplicates

I just entered http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=154563 and
immediately got the feedback that this is a duplicate of the popular bug
http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73712
First I just felt silly, then I wondered whether I violated the "bug-writing
guidelines" and then I came up with some questions and the below enhancement
suggestion.
Question:
I did search for the pretty obvious search terms "icon mimimize" before posting
my bug and got "Zarro Bugs".
1) What is the standard of "due care" before posting a bug?
a) For how many variants of search terms I could come up do I have to search
until I reasonably can decide my bug is worthwile posting? (some people would
use different word forms such as "minimise" and still not find my bug - even
under RESOLVED" ==>
b) also, does bugzilla search have/use a thesaurus?)
Furthermore, both http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/query.cgi and
http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/query.cgi?format=modern only search for
NEW/ASSIGNED/REOPENED by default,
c) am I expected to search for the rest (UNCO/RES/VERIF/CLOSED) as well?
Assuming that no thesaurus is used and the query defaults remain as they are,
here comes my suggetion to have the system be smarter:
2) Whenever a bug is resolved as a duplicate of another, have the remaining bug
inherit the title/body/search terms of the resolved one.
Otherwise - as it would happen now, the next innocent bug-reporter searches for
"icon minimize", finds zarro bugs and enters the same bug again and gets
resolved as duplicate - a waste of time and resources and demotivation of
everybody involved... :(
What do you think?
This could also go to the component "Creating/Changing Bugs" or "Documentation"

Yes, this is a serious problem. Dupes everywhere. So my suggestion to people
always is to search for bugs with any status, like on:
http://piology.org/mozilla/bugzilla/simple-query.html
I think this is what the simple query on the home page should do. Or at least
(but probably harder to code) to also include all duplicates in the search base.
Your solution would do it, but seems very hard to achieve.

Reassigning bugs that I'm not actively working on to the default component owner
in order to try to make some sanity out of my personal buglist. This doesn't
mean the bug isn't being dealt with, just that I'm not the one doing it. If you
are dealing with this bug, please assign it to yourself.
