if you go to a folder, either on the server or local, and highlight a single entry and then do "edit/select/all" you get all the items in the folder highlighted. then if you hit the delete key or select delete they all get deleted. why do you have to highlight one first before "select all" works? i don't know. that's not the bug highlighting, edit/select/all/delete, works for every folder in 1.1a, except for local folders/sent. here if you do this mozilla goes into a loop with the dinosour logo churning but nothing ever happens. you've got to exit the program and restart to stop it, "stop" doesn't stop it. in order to get rid of everything in local folders/sent you've got to delete them one by one. that's a pain.

this sure looks like the compact folders bug, though I would have thought that was never in 1.1a (though I don't know the date of the build that 1.1a was made on)

yes, this does look like compact folder bug 150716. from www.mozilla.org roadmap 1.1 alpha was branched on 07-Jun-2002 and released on 11-Jun-2002. Bug 150716 was fixed on 6/14 builds and it was broken on trunk 5/31 so looks like that compact folder fix missed 1.1alpha release.
