This is a permanent error and is always displayed in the treeherder when something else goes wrong to confuse things.

Thanks, will look into it. It's probably one of the Makefiles trying to do something it doesn't need to.

Looks like this got fixed with bug 1569539. I don't see the error message occurring after the first batch of patches were checked in.
