User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:68.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/68.0
Steps to reproduce:
- Log in to vSphere Web Client on Firefox (version 68.0)
- Choose any VM listed
- Right-click on VM icon and select "Open Console" to launch VMware Remote Console (I'm using latest version 10.0.4)
Actual results:
After clicking "Open Console" in vSphere an error box appears on screen:
"VMRC.EXE - Ordinal Not Found
The ordinal 4445 could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Remote Console\libcurl.dll"
Expected results:
After clicking "Open Console", usually a blank tab is opened and then the VMware Remote Console window opens up in separate window.
If running in IE or Google Chrome, the error does not appear, and the VMRC application launches correctly.

does it make any difference when you close all open firefox sessions and run firefox.exe with the -no-deelevate
command line switch?
This is the error I receive after running firefox.exe with the -no-deelevate switch.

and any difference when you switch the browser.launcherProcess.enabled
preference in about:config to false (this is just for testing and not a recommended configuration)?
So, the config change is obviously not recommended. Are there other options available that I can use to remedy this? Or is this a known bug? Thanks again.

This is a new bug that we need to investigate.
We probably need a developer to take a look at this to see what is going on, but unfortunately given the nature of enterprise software, this might be easier said than done.
Chris, do we have any contacts at VMWare?

Can you try to reproduce this this with the latest Nightly and let me know if it is fixed for you?

Still getting same error on Firefox 68.0.1.
The only way it works still is if I change value to false on browser.launcherProcess.enabled setting.

Great, thanks. This was fixed in bug 1567614, so I'm going to dupe this one over.
