Steps to reproduce:

Applied a "filter: drop-shadow(.05em .05em #f35135);" CSS rule to three lines of sans-serif text. However, whenever I select a one of the bottom two of these lines the "shadow" cast by the text in the line above suddenly has square pieces missing from it. (Please view attached screenshot.)

Actual results:

The drop-shadow effect on the above text became jagged / had square cuts in it.
(See the bottom right of the text "Russo" for the artifact.)

Expected results:

The text simply should have been selected. On another web page I am working on it appears to work fine within Firefox. Nearly no differences between the two groups of text between these pages however.

*Edit: I also noticed that at the bottom of the "R" there is a square corner sticking out of the leg of the letter's "shadow" as well.

Two things: first, enabling webrender seems to have resolved the issue (by default gfx.webrender.enable was set to false).
Second, in the screen shot you had provided I did notice the visual artifact and have outlined it in the screenshot below. Was webrender disabled at the time of this screenshot? I have also provided a small screencapture of the text after I had disabled webrender again. Let me know if there is anything else I can do.

And here I have drawn arrows at the visual artifact as it appears in your previous screenshot.

Do you notice the square edges that are being "cut out" of the drop-shadow on some of the text? The "R" also has a square corner sticking out of its front leg, same with the "h" letter's drop-shadow.

Hi @Anthony Russo, I've retested the issue with 2 different profiles on release 68.0.1 and latest nightly 70.0a1 but without success. I will attach both screenshots to see how it is displayed in my end.

Jessie, can you try to reproduce on the VR machine we have in the office.

Updated the VR machine to use the same driver. Still could not reproduce the issue.

Anthony - does this issue still happen for you? Does it happen with the latest version of Firefox?
