Details

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC; en-US; rv:1.1a+) Gecko/20020703 BuildID: 2002070308 Note: I believe this is related to but different enough from bug bug 118835 ("start up with default set of tabs (bookmark group as home ") to be worth a different report, but since I am not experienced at this, please mark as redundant if it is. I have created some topical tabgroups for myself, and I sometimes to read them in separate browser windows. So I call a new browser (giving me a blank / untitled browser window) then select a bookmarked tabgroup, like "World Geopolitcal News Sites." However, opening that (bookmark / set of tabs) leaves the current page in place as it opens all the tabs of the requested group, so I always have a blank / untitled page on the far left, which I then go close. This is different from the way conventional (single-page) bookmarks work. When I select a regular bookmark, the page is displayed in the current window, replacing the current one if it's already an active webpage, or loading it and replacing the blankness of an empty view. In the context of a tabgroup chosen from the bookmarks list, "Open tabs in background" would make more sense to *me* opening tab 1 (leftmost) in the current window and opening tabs 2 to N in the background. The bookmark isn't being chosen as a tab, but rather as a set of pages made up of tabs. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. bookmark a group of tabs :) 2. start a new browser window (though the same applies even if you have open tabs already) 3. choose the bookmarked group of tabs Actual Results: The starting view (either your home page, if set, or a blank / untitled window) remains in place, while all members of the chosen tab group are opened in tabs to the right of this one. Expected Results: I would expect the first member of the bookmarked group to replace the current page, just as a conventional bookmark replaces the active page when it's chosen. Note that this seems to contradict bug 152625, whose poster complains that *rather* than leaving the current page alone, instead, opening a tabgroup steals the current page. I too have "open tabs in background" checked, but as I read that bug, I am experiencing / annoyed by the opposite behavior. I'm using build 2002070308 on Mac OS 9.1, while that poster is on Windows, but I'm certain I've seen this behavior with the same build under Linux.
