Comment on attachment 9094201 [details] data_review_request_spoc_topsite.txt 1. Is there or will there be documentation that describes the schema for the ultimate data set in a public, complete, and accurate way? Yes. https://github.com/mozilla/activity-stream/pull/5318/files#diff-f92d07e23fd9de1eb2f4ad96bd041287 2. Is there a control mechanism that allows the user to turn the data collection on and off? Yes. The user can opt-out the data collection by either disabling the telemetry of Activity Stream or disabling the Firefox telemetry as a whole. 3. If the request is for permanent data collection, is there someone who will monitor the data over time? The sponsored top sites feature is behind the pref (off by default) and will be rolled out as an experiment. They will revisit this collection if they want to enable this feature in release. Kirill Demtchouk (kirill@getpocket.com) and Nan Jiang (najiang@mozill.com) will be monitoring those metrics. 4. Using the category system of data types on the Mozilla wiki, what collection type of data do the requested measurements fall under? Category 2, Interaction. 5. Is the data collection request for default-on or default-off? Based on the channel(s) in which the experiment will be conducted. This collection will only be added to users with Top Stories enabled. 6. Does the instrumentation include the addition of any new identifiers? No. 7. Is the data collection covered by the existing Firefox privacy notice? Yes. 8. Does there need to be a check-in in the future to determine whether to renew the data? Yes, you should revisit this collection if you want to enable this feature in release. 9. Does the data collection use a third-party collection tool? No.

I have verified that this issue is no longer reproducible with the latest Firefox Nightly (71.0a1 Build ID - 20191006214844) installed, on Windows 10 x64, Arch Linux and Mac 10.14.5. Now, I can confirm that the following value is displayed inside the "Telemetry Ping": {"icon_type":"custom_screenshot","card_type":"spoc"}.
