Steps to reproduce:

Go to a website to read text, select reading mode (box with horizontal lines on right on address bar), select to read white text with a dark background.

Actual results:

Unlike with Samsung Internet browser, the entire screen does not go dark. A strip at the top and at the bottom remains brightly lit, which makes reading difficult in this setting.

Expected results:

The full background of the screen should have gone black.

Hello,

The issue is not with reader mode, in order for the whole screen to go dark the browser needs to support themes. Unfortunately at the moment Firefox for Android does not, see bug 1195138. You can however download Firefox Preview, it has theme support and can be downloaded here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mozilla.fenix . I will mark this issue as duplicate.
