From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.1a) Gecko/20020611 BuildID: 2002061104 I'm running windows xp. I have two accounts: one power user (what I usually use) and one administrator. Recently when opening the mail client from the power user account, my profile seemed to be deleted; it was still there in my Application Data directory, but it wasn't being referenced (ie, my mail was gone, my bookmarks were gone, etc). Later on I determined that it was referencing the profile for the Administrator account. I did nothing after closing mozilla to cause this to occur. This has happened twice, both times without any discernable cause... so it's reproducible, I'm just not sure how. I searched for other bugs that were similar, and found a few (bug 139562 and bug 156088) but none that quite seemed the same. Reproducible: Sometimes
I just experienced a slightly different variation; this time I didn't get a different profile, but a new profile. The Imported IE links are from this user (not the admin user). I've been experiencing a few crashes lately due to driver issues, I wonder if data corruption could possibly have anything to do with it.
Liam, Please check bug 155080 and see if that matches what you experience. Are you getting a new 'default' prefs.js file?
this hasn't happened since I've upgraded to 1.1beta, so I can't test the 'prefs.js' file size. It looks right, though, so feel free to mark this as a duplicate.
assuming this is a dupe, per comment 2 and comment 3 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 155080 ***
