+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1524665 +++

The fxa_avatar_menu events have expired and so need to either be removed or renewed.

(I noticed because I received an alert, uh, alerting me of an uptick in expired events being recorded starting in Nightly 71)

ni?loines,vbudhram as the data owners.

I think we will definitely want these renewed because we are making changes to this menu that will need to be measured.

Hey tdsmith, tagging you for review on the Fxa toolbar menu telemetry since you reviewed the original one in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1562006#c23. This simply updates the expiration time to be 3 FF versions later, no extra data is being collected.

Comment on attachment 9098622 [details] Updated FxA toolbar menu data collection review for Skyline data-review+; thanks! The request is for permanent collection, but the patch only extends collection to 74; I'll assume from your comment that the patch is right. -- 1) Is there or will there be **documentation** that describes the schema for the ultimate data set in a public, complete, and accurate way? Yes, in Events.yaml. 2) Is there a control mechanism that allows the user to turn the data collection on and off? Yes, the Firefox telemetry opt-out. 3) If the request is for permanent data collection, is there someone who will monitor the data over time? n/a 4) Using the **[category system of data types](https://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox/Data_Collection)** on the Mozilla wiki, what collection type of data do the requested measurements fall under? Category 2, interaction data. 5) Is the data collection request for default-on or default-off? Default-on. 6) Does the instrumentation include the addition of **any *new* identifiers**? No. 7) Is the data collection covered by the existing Firefox privacy notice? Yes. 8) Does there need to be a check-in in the future to determine whether to renew the data? (Yes/No) Yes, Vijay and Leif are responsible for renewing the collections before they expire in 74. 9) Does the data collection use a third-party collection tool? **If yes, escalate to legal.** No.
