Steps to reproduce:

Upgrade to macos 10.15

Actual results:

• missing profiles
• created profiles still not launching
• missing bookmarks after the upgrade

Expected results:

launch the application.

Hi Doru, can you please add more details? Did you upgrade from Mac OS X 10.14, what do you see if you go to about:profiles (write this in the search bar)? Thanks

I also saw that there was another issue filed by you https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1589969 with the same problem. As Gijs suggested, I don't think this is a FF issue.

Marcia, can you please take a look at this and let us know if you saw it before? In our test run for the Catalina version, we didn't encounter this issue.

I haven't seen this issue on the 2 machines I upgraded to from 10.14. Would be interesting to know where Firefox was installed on the machine - in the Applications directory - or somewhere else?

Installation is don in Applications directory.
doru$ pwd
/Applications
doru$ ls
FileZilla.app Numbers.app Webex
Firefox 2.app OneDrive.app Firefox.app

Even if the profile is created firefox gives an error getting the profile. ( profile has been created manually, the other profile was deleted during the upgrade).
The upgrade was done from 10.14 (now i regret it ...:)) as i had to search for the bookmarks during the last week..).
Problem is reported also on another MacOS laptop, same behaviour.

Did you rename Firefox to Firefox 2?

Firefox 2 and Firefox would use separate profiles.

The problem is not that I am not able to use it, I had that fixed since the second day for my laptop, but I lost data on several laptops, (bookmarks mainly).
We excluded the Firefox from all the MacOS devices, though the problems was caused by MacOS.

i was wondering if the data loss was due to changing the name of the Firefox app. Current versions of Firefox put data for different versions of Firefox in different directories.

No activity on this bug in 2 months - do we still need to keep it open? Thanks.
