This is the exact same problem as Bug 492964, but 11 years later in Thunderbird 60.9.0. Not sure if I should have re-opened.

Also saw it in 60.8.0, but tried updating before reporting.

Currently not happening (TB 60.9.1)

This appears to be an intermittent issue and I am having trouble figuring out how to reproduce it reliably.

Not happening for me. TB 60.9.1 on Win10Pro.

It also does not happen for me on macOS in my very quick test (TB 70.0b3).

Please IGNORE or delete my post above, I was confused between global and unified inboxes. I don't have global inbox.
