Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:72.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/72.0
Steps to reproduce:
In the "customize" menu of the toolbar, one can drag and drop items to customize the ones that appear on the toolbar. In this menu, the megabar appears in the collapsed state, so that the search icon appears outside of the url-bar. Thus, one thinks that the search icon can be moved around.
Actual results:
Trying to move the search icon moves the whole megabar.
Expected results:
I suppose that the search icon is thought to be linked to the megabar. Hence, it would be useful to put the megabar in expanded mode in the "customize" menu, so that one does not get the impression that they are separated.
Or, if the search icon is placed outside of the navigation bar in the new design, then it should be customizable.

It won't be customizable, because it's part of the urlbar. Probably it should be hidden, or the urlbar border should wrap around it.

Hi, I think that this bug is no longer valid in the face of the latest changes on the browser. If I'm mistaken, please reopen it.
Regards, Flor.

WONTFIX is probably a better resolution. This bug refers to the "search button" concept we were experimenting with just after Urlbar update 1 launched. We're unlikely to move forward with that concept.
