RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 546254

People

(Reporter: rundablage, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:69.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/69.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Have multiple tabs open and a full history with page titles similar to some open tabs
  2. Type a term into url bar, that matches an open tab and multiple history entries

Actual results:

Firefox shows the entries in no discernible order (to me) with an open tab sometimes not showing up at all if there are many similar history results.

Expected results:

If I have a relevant tab already open, I would expect Firefox to show that first, before suggesting opening a new one. Especially if I start typing a url, which is already open in a tab, I would definitely want to use the open tab instead of opening a new one.

I know, I can type space % and match only tabs but this is really cumbersome to do. Type - could I have that already open - space - shift-5 - no, ok, backspace.

Could this at least be an option? Make the priorities configurable?
