Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:68.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/68.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Select text in address bar
  2. Press Shift+Delete to cut the text and copy to clipboard

Actual results:

Selected history entry in address bar dropdown is deleted from library and no text is copied to the clipboard.

Expected results:

No history entries should've been deleted, and the text should've been copied to the clipboard.

In Firefox shift delete is used to remove entries from the dropdown, it's unfortunate that it clashes with cut and there's no simple fix for that, without breaking everyone using shift+del to remove entries. I think long term we should move destructive operations to the contextual menu, then we could evaluate changing the shortcut and advertize it through the menu itself.
