This bug will import part of the fix in bug 1546924 in order to add support for blocking on the result of the DNS resolution for HTTP channels, based on a per-channel DNS resolution policy.
I need this as a per-requisite to the fixes submitted in bug 1540810. In that bug we're performing a CNAME DNS query for HTTP channels and are using the result of that query, and right now the patches in that bug don't actually wait on the result of the DNS query to be finished, so they just rely on luck for the CNAME data to be fetched in time to be consumed when we need it.
