While we're blocked on UX for bug 1600891, we can at least not use the fade gradient for tips.

It actually looks worse without the fade because the text is just abruptly cut off. With the fade, the gradient either covers the text completely so it disappears, or the text fades out on the right side. Either is better than this screenshot. So let's forget this.
