On macOS, Firefox is unlike many other apps in that it doesn't (re)start on login if it was closed automatically. I usually keep Firefox open at all times, and as such reopening it manually after restart is a chore that I'd like to avoid. I believe this is a feature that was introduced in macOS a few years ago, but Firefox has never supported it.
