Details

Typing a new URL into the address bar and hitting return will load that URL. When this happens, the focus remains on the address bar, so pressing the page down or arrow keys will appear to do nothing. It is then necessary to double- or sometimes triple-click the main window to get the focus to the right location.
Can you provide some sample URL addresses for this? Is it for any URL addresses or just one? We can have a better idea of we get more information on this one. How about using the Bug Helper to fill out the detail information for us.
Happens to me with just about any URL, but I believe only in certain conditions. I'll look for a pattern and document it. Should I update this bug or file a new one with Bug Helper?
I'm not able to reproduce with simple urls, my guess would be frame sets. Please try to get a URL that this reproduces with
jon_baumgartner@yahoo.com, what Build ID did you report this bug against?
I've been seeing it on and off for the entire time I've been using Mozilla. I first reported it with 2002071303, but I'm seeing it also with 2002080108 on my other machine.
Here's another example URL. This is a better example than the microsoft one I mentioned earlier. The problem definitely does seem to be frameset-related. http://www.rumortracker.com/framesets/applexnews/index.html
So the steps to reproduce are what, open a new window, type in that URL, and hit return? I do see that focus doesn't get put in the main frame, but I think that happen with any FRAMESET page, because Mozilla doesn't know what frame deserves focus most. I suppose you could be talking about bug 86931 here. What do you think?
Yep. Looks like the same thing as that other bug. Sorry 'bout that. Thanks.
