Details

This is not really a bug in Mozilla but perhaps one can do something to work around it? If I compile Mozilla with gcc > 3, the Java plugin doesn't work any longer. A C++ ABI problem I think? Mozilla 1.1 has a MOZ_ENABLE_OLD_ABI_COMPAT_WRAPPERS which doesn't work for Java, too. I wasn't able to get it. Can this be solved somehow?
Bug 116444 has the discussion with comments from Sun. Duping to that. I also know of the following: http://hints.linuxfromscratch.org/hints/javafromscratch.txt (=recompile java) http://hints.linuxfromscratch.org/hints/mozilla.txt http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/bugParade/bugs/4694590.html *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 116444 ***
