Marionette has some underlying problems when interacting with GTK/GNOME desktop environments that has been encountered during the linux1804 migration process:
The root of the problem boils down to the fact that when manipulating window position and/or size, GTK/GNOME experiences a higher degree of asynciness.
While almost all test suites are now running with GTK/GNOME desktop environment, marionette
and the derived web-platform-tests-wdspec
tests experience failures directly related to this issue.
A number of attempts were made in bug 1602701 to fix the marionette driver itself, but the best attempts been where resulting runs were ~50% green.

The proposed solution is to set up a separate environment specifically for these failing tests such that migration can be made, which would still be beneficial over continuing to run these tests under the current linux64 platform.
