User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:74.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/74.0
Steps to reproduce:
assign letter to one click search engine, e.g. wikipedia (w) or leo.org (l)
Actual results:
key not recognized, searched by default search engine instead
directly after assignment key is recognized but after a few days/restart some (the above) keys are gone, others (google, duckduck, ebay, ... )remain
Expected results:
key always recognized as assigned

Please could you add an attachment with the text obtained via the copy button from Help -> Troubleshooting Information?
Also, are you using a build from the Ubuntu distribution or downloaded from www.mozilla.org?

Thank you for the extra information. I'm pretty sure we've just fixed this in bug 1623599. As you're using the Ubuntu distribution, it is unlikely to be bug 1623597 as they've already fixed that.
You'll probably hit this again with the update to 75 that is due to release next week (somewhere around the 7th April, though I don't know when the Ubuntu distribution updates), but after that they should be remembered correctly.
