Steps to reproduce:

By default, Thunderbird is configured to display the subject first. To move the columns, the mouse is required. This means that users who rely on a screen reader can only move the columns in difficult conditions or not at all.

For this reason, I think it is necessary to add a dialog box to the "View" menu that also allows users to move the columns with the keyboard. I could imagine a list where all columns are listed and where they can be moved using the "Up" and "Down" buttons. At the same time, the list could contain a checkbox that allows users to select and deselect columns.
