RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1621570

People

(Reporter: jacobevanthomas, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.14; rv:75.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/75.0

Steps to reproduce:

(Using macos mojave. other operating systems not available for me to test) toggle browser.urlbar.singleClickSelectsAll to "false". Update firefox to the most recent version. then click the url bar once.

Actual results:

A single click selects the entire url bar. This is expected default behavior. I have toggled the setting browser.urlbar.singleClickSelectsAll to "false" in order to change this behavior. after the most recent update this setting no longer has any affect and a single click will select the entire url bar.
Before said update this setting worked as expected

Expected results:

with the setting mentioned above set to "false", a single click on the url bar should only place the cursor on that location of the url bar and should not select any text in the url bar.

I described the setting as "browser.urlbar.singleClickSelectsAll"
I actually meant "browser.urlbar.clickSelectsAll"

for additional clarity, this setting is located under about:config
