we need to add an alias field to enter_bug.cgi. we have the bugzilla helper for
newbies and I think it's time to make enter_bug more useful to developers and QA.

This actually would be extremely helpful for an implementation at HP. They
currently have over 30 different IT assets using bugzilla; the Alias is a field
that is used quite a bit.
Not assuming this matters to Mozilla, just hoping!!

Combined with the bug #248386 fix, this works just fine.

My bad. I've been so used to using bug aliases that I forgot it was
configurable.
Here's the updated patch.

It would be nice to have <label> tags, but little else has them at the moment,
so r+ (remembering that the blocker needs to go in first)

Reassigning to patch author...
I'm really iffy about adding this to the enter_bug form, personally. It's way
too easy to pick something that's already in use, and you'd lose your whole bug
if your browser decides not to play fair.
Cancelling approval for now since it depends on a bug that isn't reviewed yet.
You can re-request approval once that patch is in the approval queue.

Now that bug #248386 has been approved, I think this can be checked in?

This seems like the kind of thing we should hold for 2.22.
It also seems like the kind of thing we should apply to b.m.o.
