Note
- When opening Beta v79.0b6, Release v78.0.2 and esr v68.10esr, the user will notice that these 3 different versions of Firefox will be grouped into the same icon in the taskbar.
Affected versions
- Beta v79.0b9
- Release v78.0.2
- ESR v68.0.2esr / v68.10esr
Affected platforms
- Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
Steps to reproduce
- Open Firefox Release v78.0.2 with a new profile.
- Open Firefox Beta v79.0b9 with a new profile.
- Open Firefox ESR v68.10esr with a new profile.
Expected result
- These 3 browser windows of different browser versions and channels are shown each in a different taskbar entry.
Actual result
- These 3 browser windows of different browser versions and channels are shown as windows of the same taskbar entry.
Regression range
- unknown
Additional notes
- Only the Nightly is grouped as a separate application; Furthermore, if opening a second build of Nightly with a new profile, will show u0p as a separate taskbar entry than the first Nightly entry and the 3 other channels (that are grouped together).
- I give this an S3 severity level since it only affects Linux type OSes and since it does not affect the quality of the browser's services.
- Please NI me if more investigation is necessary.
