User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:79.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/79.0

Steps to reproduce:

Just some of wayland last itches 😉️

  1. Run Firefox on Wayland mode. Make sure Window Protocol on about:support is wayland/drm

  2. Visit any 3D WebGL site e.g. https://webglsamples.org/aquarium/aquarium.html or https://threejs.org/examples/#webgl_animation_cloth or

  3. Wait for some ten minutes or so and make sure that tab stay opened/visible!

FYI: I use dual monitors btw. Don't know if this cause problem or not. But result are same whether it is on the monitor left or monitor right.

Actual results:

Expected results:

Never crashed under X11 and Xwayland mode even with WebRender Flag enabled

Thanks for the report!

Thanks for the report!

  • Do you see any crash reports on about:crashes?

You are welcome!
It's My pleasure to help Mozilla Firefox team!

Only one Report ID bp-7c4444d4-33b0-4557-b691-6c2d00200815 showed up on about:crashes and I don't think this has anything to do with this crash. Everytime this crash happened, no new crash report on about:crashes is produced. The crash only happen on that tab, not on the whole Firefox.

Weird, I can't reproduce this bug under Firefox 75 on Fedora 32

Priority: -- → P3

Firefox 75 didn't use DMABUF WebGL on Wayland. Please check this, too:

Can you check if this bug has been fixed in https://nightly.mozilla.org? 79 was affected by bug 1655323.
Start Nightly with $ MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 path/to/firefox, open about:config, set gfx.webrender.all to true, restart Nightly and open https://webglsamples.org/aquarium/aquarium.html.

This bug is dissapear on Firefox 82

Thanks for checking!
bug 1655323 was fixed in 81.
bug 1656505 was fixed in 82.
bug 1645677 and bug 1656415 exist for bp-7c4444d4-33b0-4557-b691-6c2d00200815. There is also bug 1660263.
