User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:79.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/79.0

Steps to reproduce:

78RC1: manually set up accounts. I did no testing, continued and confirmed 'no encryption'. All is accepted without complaints.

Actual results:

folder pane is empty. The right panel still shows the starting page. There, pressing setup email does nothing.

In folder pane, there is no inbox or similiar. Account manager (tools-> accounts) shows my account, I have the download button specifying the account, but nothing happens when pressing.

Expected results:

Specialty: imap (ingoing) and smtp are in different servers with differing account info.

This is necessary if private imap server is on dynamic ip because sending from dynamic ip generally is blocked by spam filters, so for smtp, we use our internet provider.

Blocks: tb78found

addendum: view has account/folderview deactivated by default.
Unfortunately, activating does not really help: I now get the grey bar, where, i think, I can switch between different views in the folder pane, but still no inbox

sorry for the info coming in in bits. It is 64 bit TB on win 10

OS: Unspecified → Windows 10
Hardware: Unspecified → Desktop

Caused by some add-on? If you still see it with add-ons disabled, please attach a screenshot.

But the folders appear after restarting Thunderbird?
