In NN4.x starting java status bar showd a message: "Starting Java...". In Moz/NN when Java is starting the whole mozilla suite stops responding and you dunno what happends. I wish there is a status bar saying that Java is starting up. PS Also look at bug 1785.

It wass supposed to be fixed in bug 97380 (message when starting), but bug 1785 (prompt before starting) was reopened, so I'm adding it there. See bug 1785 comment 26 why message and prompt are related.

But I do not see any mesaage, even when flash or other plug-in starts. Should I reopen 97380? And why is this a dup of bug 1785, when actually it's a bug 97380 dup... Reopening.

Read the comments in both bugs. Bug 97380 (statusbar) was a subset of bug 1785 (statusbar + prompt), but was already closed. But 1785 was already reopend for the same reason that you're reporting here. 1785 was the one with the activity, not 97380, despite the summary. BTW, why did you cc me on this bug ?
