This is not an enhancement request, it's a regression! This needs to be fixed.

you do realise this is in regards to the 'download manager' not the 'download
progress dialog'? Just checking! because i cant remember this ever being done,
so what is meant by regression?
regards.

nsbeta1- per the nav triage team.
As far as I am aware Download Manager never auto closed, Download Progress
Windows did though.

This should be an enhancement. Everything is working as expected now -
download progress dialog box closes when finished, and download manager
window remains open after download finishes.
I give my vote to the download manager auto-close feature. I'd like
to propose a second option of removing the already downloaded from the
list in download manager automatically, and the ability to pause and
resume a download.

Isn't this implemented in Firefox 0.8, "Close the Download Manager when all
downloads are complete"?

This is fixed in Firefox. It will not be fixed in Seamonkey.

Why do you close a Mozilla bug if it is not closed there as FIXED? If you want
to do WONTFIX, then that is bad enough, but clear.
After all: Why is it not going to be fixed?

Then FIXED is certainly not the correct resolution.

Anyhow, an argument why this should not be fixed is needed. The single dialog
has this feature.

Reopening. This has been opened for the suite where it is not fixed. It is a
valid enhancement request for which some contributor might well provide code and
the fact that it has been fixed in FF supports the validity of the request.

fair enough
BUT
i am no longer interested in this bug and am REALLY hating the bugSPAM it's
generating. please close and open new bug for seamonkey.

Paul, this bug was filed for Seamonkey and generated about one Mail per month on
average, which is not quite much compared to other bugs (many bugs have 300+
comments).
You can also filter the mails generated by certain bugs if you consider it
worthwhile.
There is a bug filed on bugzilla to allow reporters to relinquish bugs they
filed to not get bugmail from them when they don't care anymore.
However, since you are the reporter, I think you have the right to close this
bug if you decide to do so.

Paul, this was not filed for Firebird/fox. But since you are the reporter, I'll
verify your resolution because there is no better one for "the issue still
exists, but the reporter does not wish to get mail about it anymore".
To make thinks half-way properly, I'm moving it to Firefox.
Johann, it would be nice if you could file a new bug for this issue including
everything relevant this bug contains. Plus: include a link to this bug there
and a note about the new bug here for reference. Thanks!
