Press "shift" + "del"

Actual results:

Nothing

Expected results:

The default suggestion should be removed

This works for any entry in the suggestions list except the default suggestion, which has a green "Open" (translated from "Aufrufen" in my German version) next to it.

I was unable to reproduce it on latest Nightly version 84.0a1 (2020-11-09) on Windows 10.
Could you please try again and tell us what happened? Also if it's possible please upload a screen recording with the problem.
Keep in mind that the suggestion to be deleted should not be open.

Bugbug thinks this bug should belong to this component, but please revert this change in case of error.

What are you typing and what is the first suggestion saying?
Not all the urlbar entries can be removed, that's why we plan to introduce a per-result menu allowing to control suggestions.
