Set release status flags based on info from the regressing bug 1674043

I have no explanation on why it would cause a regression on win7 32 bits and not any other platforms.

In any case, I don't believe there's much we can do about it, the gain elsewhere greatly overshadow any potential regressions (and win7-32 isn't one I'm worried much about).
