Build 2002091014 When right-clicking on a link, there is no "View Background Image" option even though there are even two images visible depending on the mouse pointer's position (one for "a" and one for the "a:hover" background url properties as per eric's CSS).
The context menu ui spec calls for lack of this option on links. See http://www.mozilla.org/projects/ui/communicator/framework/contextmenus/cmrev2-3a.html#Anchor-60133 So the UI designers seem to feel it's not needed or something.

Boris, Thanks for the link - I see that there is no mention of my suggestion (also I see no negative one like your contended "call for lack of"). Isn't an "enhancement" exactly for the cases where the specs do not mention it, i.e. the UI designers didn't think of it? Does Mozilla.org have any guidelines how to handle enhancements? Your argumentation below doesn't really feel like a "decision process" with due care. Regards Ralf

Ralf, we had that option in the context menu. It was removed, on purpose, in the context menu redesign. See bug 75338. If you notice, the same page I pointed you to _does_ call for a "View Background Image" item if you right-click on some random text, and that item is purposefully omitted for links... I don't like this decision either, but it's been made.
